Wembley, oh Wembley, here we come (again?)

Tweets all around twitter. Status updates all around fb arsenal fanpages. And all these had one thing in common – the word ‘Wembley’. So you can see how much it meant to us. I was also part of the twitterati that cheered after the scorecard at the final whistle read arsenal 3-0 ipswich. Our 1st final in some time (if any tv commentator is reading, can you please tell me this is our 1st final in how many years? Also, please tell me how many years have we not won a trophy in?). But we totally deserved to win this and, unlike last leg where we were really shit, we did well this time and Ipswich can keep their fairytale ending for some other year.
As we know, arsenal like to make hard work out of it and so they did, not having a great 1st half against a resilient ipswich. But a beautiful goal by bendtner, a rare header by koscielny (which kind of makes up for his miss against chelshit) and a goal by el captaino seals the deal for us. the match report is here. We’re finally in a final. At Wembley. And we have an easy opponent to beat over there. If it’s west ham, the crowd at Wembley will be equally filled with london supporters. But if it’s birmingham, it’s gonna be a majority arsenal crowd. Let’s hope we come back to Wembley atleast once more. Performance of the day was wilshere – his ball over to cesc was beautiful and had some beautiful moments and you just cant help but wonder if he is the next xavi already! Wenger has uncovered a beautiful gem. Bendtner, cesc had good performances, everyone else did their job. We can see arshavin working hard but still not getting it right. Let’s hope he gets out of this bad patch soon, because form is temporary but class is permanent. The Sagna-Chesney injury was kinda bad and let’s hope Sagna recovers because we need him, him being our 1st choice and Eboue not living up to the job. Also, check out the goals.
What does this win do? As said on numerous occasions, it sets a catalyst platform for further trophy wins. Brings in the mentality of the team that we wanna see. Wenger later said this meant a lot to the team and cesc was a born winner and will lead us to more trophies. Just like he said cesc would be spain’s captain one day, cant argue with this one. And everyone can see that this team has changed a lot over the years. This is a great chance to bring the trophy to the emirates for the 1st time. Now look at our defense in january. 8 matches played and just conceded 3 goals, each one to lower league opponents in the cup and each one in 3 different matches. 4 clean sheets in the premier league. And we can see how well djourscielny is working at centre back. Hopefully, squillaci will be back for huddersfield in the weekend so we will have more choice to rotate but it’s pretty obvious he will be the last in the picking order. Also, wenger wont buy a defender. We could see that coming, knowing he’s the kind of person who doesnt spend big. Maybe a loan deal for some ok defender might happen in this last transfer week but dont be surprised if it doesnt. Credit to song and wilshere, who have developed a great understanding and song is doing much better at DM than he was before.
Now about the andy gray-richard keys issue, im just happy they went. When i buy fifa 12, i hope i dont hear that fat hypocritic bulldog’s voice. Infact, it’s he who doesnt understand the offside rule. He was commentating on our carling cup match at white hart lane, i think, and it was gibbs or theo who beat the offside trap but was wrongly flagged. I remember him saying something like ‘oh that’s miles off’ and the co-commentator went like ‘that’s clear onside. He beat the trap perfectly’. Then both were arguing till the replay and once gray sees him onside, he goes like ‘oh ok not miles off but little off’. That nympho cunt had snide remarks about ramsey and eduardo too during those injuries and was one of those who defended shawcock. What suprised me is it was not the comments at loserpool match that did him in, it was another video. Also, have you noticed that keys hasnt sued News of the world for checking his cell so he hasnt been fired? Now keys also has a viral video of him going around and want him to go next, along with chris (t)waddle, who i hate mainly for saying that england’s next best striker, our theo, doesnt have a ‘footballing brain’. Well you twat, he has scored 10-11 goals already in an injury ridden season. And how ironic is it that a cunt like twaddle comes on air and after seeing an accidental handball by persie, which was rightly not given as a penalty (because it took place inside our box), he shouts, and i quote, ‘how can the ref not saw that. That’s a clear PELANTY’. So much for him and his footballing brain.
Anyway cunts shall be cunts. We will get to know tonight who we are facing at Wembley. Arsenal are on a great run, both defensively and offensively and just want them to continue like this. Scoring 3 goals in 5 outta 8 matches this month is great. This month really proving to be good for us. Dont have a real preference between either finalists, just want us to win the goddamn trophy. Even after we win it, the commentators will be like ‘Arsenal have won just one trophy in the last __ years’. I really cant seem to remember how many years, so if any commentator reading this, please do remind me. They’re good in remembering years and all history stuff. Also, the rumours around “wonder kid/next Walcott” Alex Chamberlain have proved to be true. We most probably will sign him, and then loan him back to Southampton again. So Huddersfield next up on sunday and all we ask of arsenal is to play on like this and book a 2nd spot in wembley. A champonship side should be easy to beat and….wait a sec, havent i said this before? Hmmm….anyway while it’s too early to do a preview, i feel Wenger’s gonna rotate a little, with the squad something like:
Chesney – Eboue – Squillaci (if fit) – Koscielny – Gibbs – Song – Denilson – Arshavin – Bendtner – Nasri – Chamakh
Also, Follow me on Twitter or join the Facebok page. Hoping for no disappointments or replays, here’s to the joy of making it to Wembley and beating Huddersfield on sunday. Cheers.
