WELCOME TO ARSENAL DAY CARE
Posted on September 2nd, 2010 | by pgk4 in Arsenal NewsSquads were announced yesterday according to the new rules imposed by the FA that I neither care about or want to care about. Heck! I watch the darn football! Anyways, having a look at the list is actually quite a sight. Twenty senior players were announced, them being:
Almunia, Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh, Clichy, Denilson, Diaby, Djourou, Eboue, Fabianski, Fabregas, Koscielny, Mannone, Nasri, Rosicky, Sagna, Song, Van Persie, Vermaelen, Squillaci.
All ship-shape till here, no? Well then, I’m just going to copy paste the U-21s list for you:

PASTE GODDAMIT!!!

Ahh well, I’ll just tell you then and you better take my word for it: fifty six. FIFTY-friggin’-SIX. That is the number of players U21 who Arsenal have on contract or scholarship or whatever. WOW! It remains to be seen how many of those fifty-six will ever make it to the first team but one thing is for sure, whether they pursue a senior career at Arsenal or some other place there are going to be fifty-six darn good footballers to go around and they’re ALL products of Arsenal Football Club. Impressive eh?
The ever reliable Mirror reports that Nasri is back on track with his fitness after recovering from a knee surgery and may even play a part against Bolton. I’m not sure I want to see him play against Bolton and I don’t think we will. Better safe than sorry they say, and that especially applies when the situation isn’t desperate and we actually have players who can go out and play without the risk of aggravating an injury. Talking about aggravating injuries, there were reports floating around that Bendtner ‘Klas had messed up his groin injury and now there are reports floating about that, that was all a load of shite. What to believe, what not to believe: I’ll leave that to you guys, but positive news is always nice to hear innit?
It appears Wenger has taken his image of being anti-English quite seriously and has thus appointed Theo, the only English footballer without a scandal to his name(…for now), to keep rattling off stuff about how great England is and how it’s going to be perfectly rosy from now on and stuff like that. I’ve never seen this sort of stuff on the official site before and when it popped up before me, I couldn’t help but feel there are sincere efforts being made to tear down the “non-English” stereotype attached to Arsenal. No offense to the English or anything but, England winning a major event in the next few years is just as probable as… ummm… as probable as… ummm… as it has been since 1966: not very.
Meanwhile, it seems Arsene is set to sign a player. No, not Schwarzer so don’t get your hopes up. Arsene likes taking care of young kids you see, so he decided he’d look out for a new admission to the Arsenal Day Care. He looked up, looked down and he looked to the left. But finally Wenger resorted to faaaaar right on the map and a certain Ryo Miyaichi caught his eye. He’s been tipped off as the Asian Cristiano Ronaldo and that honestly doesn’t make me feel too comfortable. Last thing we need in people flailing about and stomping around and ruining that oh-so-perfect Emirates surface.
It seems young Wilshere is determined to turn ‘Jack the Ripper’ into ‘Jack the Raper’ and has a history to prove it. Eve-teasing and boozing his teetotal self drunk it seems. I’m not going to say I believe it, but hey, he’s English, anything’s possible. Your move, Jack…
And as we await Jack’s move, I’m off to play myself a bit of that FIFA ’10. Wishing you’ll a bearable day and be careful where you point that camera, aite? Later then, turrah!
