Was Anderson Really Injured Or Another Cover Up?

Posted on January 3rd, 2012 | by The United Religion in injury,Sir Alex Ferguson

After being out of action since jogging off against Otelul Galati at the beginning of November, Anderson returned to action for Manchester United, looking a lot slimmer.

Anderson returned to action for the Reds

Sir Alex Ferguson said that his midfielder was going to be out of action until February with another knee injury, but there’s no possible way that he could’ve return a full eight weeks before, especially fearing a setback.

With 10 days of training under his belt, Anderson, sporting a new hairstyle, has been often criticized for his weight and poor eating habits – and it raises suspicion that this was another clever cover by the Gaffer.

Let’s face it, if Anderson was truly injured, there’s no way someone with his eating problem would’ve lost that weight not playing football. Yes, he has resumed training with the first team, but you’re not going to loss 10-15 pounds of fat, not water weight, in 10 days. If you did, it’s dangerous to your health.

Before his alleged injury, Ando was last seen chasing shadows against Manchester City, when he committed four fouls in his 65 minutes on the field before being subbed off when United could ill-afford to be overmatched in the midfield down a man.

If Anderson had another knee injury, there’s no possible way that Ferguson would’ve risked him, especially skeptical pitch. The squad is already at barebones in the center of the midfield, so to lose him for an extended period time would’ve cost the club dearly. The Brazilian midfielder has already spent seven months of his four year career at Old Trafford on the sidelines with a serious knee injury, so why take the chance?

It wouldn’t be the first time that Sir Alex covered up the real reason why a player is out of action – and certainly won’t be the last, either. Just recently Fergie revealed that Darren Fletcher didn’t have a virus, but an irritable bowel syndrome, and this could be along the same lines.

Hopefully Anderson takes the time off he had seriously, because if not, his Manchester United could be over quicker than he lost all of that weight.
