The weeks behind and Barca again

Again it’s been long since i posted. My pc’s down with some malicious virus & it’s UPS blown. Will take sometime before it gets repaired. Once in a while, i use my friend’s laptop but havent got enough time to sit and write a blog. Writing this from my cell so no attached links in today’s blog. So last time i wrote, we beat ipswich. Since then, we’ve gone on to win against huddersfield 2-1, everton 2-1 & wolves 2-0. No complains there really, except the laziness against lower league oppositions & we were kinda lucky to scrape that one out. Shows you the difference in our ‘starting xi’ and ’2nd string squad’. We have had some bad refree decisions but we overcame that to get some inspired results. Like, for eg, saha’s goal, 2nd yellow not given to some huddersfield guy etc. It’s been a good time for koscielny especially – impoving in defense, gets a call up to france, gf’s pregnant, scores with his head & now, facing the ‘best team in world’ after playing in french 3rd division just 3 yrs ago. Meteoric rise for him, really.

Now we also played newcastle. I thought of writing a blog after that match but just couldnt cause i was angry, depressed and really didnt know what to say. I was dancing at 4-0 HT. At FT, i was convinced the wanker ref was a newcastle fan. How the fuck do you give the 2nd penalty? Just fucking beats me. How did that thug barton not get yellow ATLEAST, when joe cole can get sent off for a worse tackle on wilshere (arsenal-loserpool, 1st match of season)? Worst refreeing ever. At 4-3, i was convinced the ref wanted the comeback to happen. Yup, diaby shouldnt have reacted but hope he has learnt his lesson. But one can understand why he did so. And phil dowd was initially gonna refree wolves-arsenal but was removed later, i hear. We’ve lost 2 and drawn 1 when he refreed us. Anyway i dont wanna delve in the depressing past.

Saturday against wolves and we were amazing. Should’ve been more but theo’s been wasteful really. He’s still making the same mistakes he makes 3 yrs ago. He has to be more deadly and finish better. Sometimes, i feel, he focuses too much on his pace. Im also a good runner and make the same mistake often when i play. Arsha missed a few, cesc not great but did his job well enough. As for persie’s 10 goals in 7 games – fantastic. He’s the in-form man and shows what we missed last season. We’re 4 points adrift of manu but hopefully we’ll catch up. The only thing missing in this team is consistency and, as wenger said earlier, the most consistent team will go on to win the league. Wilshere also, the next genius/xavi at the club, had an amazing game. Even he impressed for england, after all the hype from the media. Just feel so happy when you can say that you have a player like him at the club. Nothing much to say there really. It’s pretty much a 2-horse race now. A good comeback after that sad draw and good to see that we havent been affected by newcastle match. We can now carry the morale boost into the barca match.

Now preview for barca. Called the ‘best team in the world’ and cant argue with that. They’ve been great but they can be stopped. I feel wierdly confident we can do it. I found this article on goal.com – http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2011/02/13/2349713/fabregas-and-nasri-must-take-the-load-but-wilshere-is – interesting read. Teams that play barca always keep it tight & dont be suprised to see a changed style of play. I want revenge for the final loss and bragging rights against my barca supporting friend and revenge for xavi, messi and all those dickheads coming out and saying ‘cesc belongs to us’ and ‘he’s got our dna’. Hope nasri makes it in time. Arshavin’s playing a little better but you just cant replace nasri. The other bad part is eboue playing for suspended sagna. Every player HAS to be at their best. Cant put the workload on this player or that player. It’s a team game and we have to win it together. We’re underdogs and got nothing to lose. When we played against leeds at emirates, they were underdogs but they gave us a hard fight. We have to play like leeds played against us in 1st leg and be a pain in their arse. Just might work you know. It’ll be sad to see wenger, our greatest coach (no matter what else you think about him), leave the club without european glory and definitely we can feel change in this team from last season. Wenger said any team who beats barca will be favorites so let’s beat them and try for this competition. It’s a long shot but there’s always a chance. It’ll be the same team, and let’s hope nasri plays, though wouldnt take a huge risk on him because he’s valuable for the more distant future than just one match.

Anyway guys i’ll leave it there. Wont write another blog again for sometime. Will start regularly post-match blogging in april. Follow me on twitter – http://twitter.com/mumbaigunner or on facebook – http://bit.ly/mumbaigunner …so cheers everyone and here’s to hoping we beat barca!
