SCHWARZER TO MAKE HIS WAY TO ARSENAL
Posted on August 29th, 2010 | by pgk4 in Arsenal NewsAfter yesterday’s morale-lifting embarrassment of Blackburn and its cud-chewing, gibberish-spewing idiot of a manager attention now turns back to the one subject that has dominated the summer news stories. Goalkeeper. There’s been a lot of stories going around. But Mark Schwarzer seems to be the man most suited to the club keeping in mind the development of young Sczescny.
Wenger did make some comments about the transfer situation at the club:
“At the moment it’s all dead. For us the transfer period is already over.”
Now, it does seem conclusive. But with Wenger you never know. The media have gone straight on with the idea that Arsenal aren’t set for any new players. However, there might be a slightly different view point to it.
Mark Hughes, the current man at Fulham has maintained quite unequivocally throughout the summer that they wouldn’t let go of Schwarzer unless the get the replacement they want. Well, they’ve chosen their replacement in the form of Given but Mancini seems to have a problem letting go. Now, for what I think of Wenger’s comments. He’s probably implying that unless Fulham and Man Shitty sort out the deal for Given there will be no move for Schwarzer. Which therefore implies that the market is ‘dead’ for us as of now.
The Mail has reported however that Man Shitty are willing to reluctantly let go of Given. Moreover, the rise of Stockdale to unprecedented stardom might just make Hughes cave in and accept £2.5 million which in my opinion is quite an exorbitant selling price for a 37 year old goalkeeper on the last year of his contract. But we need him and I wouldn’t mind parting with £2.5 million three times over to have him.
I reckon Schwarzer’s arrival would mean that Almunia or Fabianski will be going out on loan and if Almunia’s lucky probably he’ll be getting back to Spain on a permanent move.
That’s all for now. Cheers.
