On Sabatical

My posts on this site have been pretty rare lately.  One of the reasons is Newcastle have not played a game since their midweek victory against Birmingham on February 15th and I don’t usually report news because I’m inevitably hours if not days behind many other sites.  There has been plenty of news regarding the club lately including all the rumors surrounding Enrique’s possible exit, to Captain Kev’s driving ban to the news yesterday about Cheik Tiote’s new contract. But the club will finally get back to matters on the pitch with a visit from Bolton Wanderers to SJP on a rare Saturday where every Premier League game will kick off at 3pm GMT (or 11am my time).  We’ll be looking for some revenge and Captain Kev will be looking for some redemption after an embarrassing performance in Bolton in the mirror fixture.  For a thorough preview of the match why not visite the always excellent Leazes Terrace who have all the points covered for tomorrow.

The other reason for the lack of posts has been my time was preoccupied planning a trip overseas.  I’ll be out of the country for the next 11 days trouncing around the wonderful nation of Italy which means the posts on this site will be even fewer.  It also means that come March 6th I’ll be in Florence and will be attending my very first live European football match.  My love for the Magpies has grown over time while being buffered by the Atlantic ocean and I hope to one day attend my first match at SJP in the near future.  In the meantime I will have the chance to attend the aforementioned Fiorentina vs Cantania match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi to satisfy my taste for live football.  I hope to report back my experience of the Serie A in person upon my return.

I’ll be leaving for Europe on Saturday night which means I’ll have the chance to watch the Bolton match but won’t have time to do a game recap.  All my thoughts will be conveyed via Twitter during and shortly after the match so if you care to hear what they are you can find me there.  Let’s hope for some sweet revenge today.
