Nasri to become top earner at Arsenal

Posted on May 31st, 2011 | by arsenalfanblog in Arsenal News,Misc,Samir Nasri

Ah, so the passion is well and truly gone from the game these days hasnt it.

Arsene Wenger took to the French radio waves to speak of all manner of things Arsenal, asked about the situation with Samir Nasri’s current contract, he had this to say;

We’ve got a little financial disagreement but I’ll try to make him sign a new contract. I’ll work on that this summer.

We have made our own problem at Arsenal, by rewarding second rate players such as Denilson, Diaby and Squillaci with large contract wages, why wouldnt Nasri demand 3x as much as them? When Squillaci is on £50k a week, doesnt Nasri deserve £150k a week, after all he is 3x the player Seb is, isnt he?

In light of this, I decided to make a few phone calls and from what I gather it is rather hush hush, understandably, but the word is that Nasri is demanding a salary on par with that of Cesc, plus bonuses.

This would make Samir the current Arsenal top earner and I’m sure Wenger is keeping an eye on the new legislation coming in soon regarding player’s wages. If Nasri wants more, how long until Walcott, van Persie and Vermaelen start asking for more?
