Happy Birthday Chamakh!

It’s not even been a year since he’s joined the Arsenal bandwagon and in this short span he’s pulled us out of one too many sticky spots. Arsene Wenger’s blatant preference to get him on board last season was obvious to all. And finally at the end of May 2010, all the way from Bordeaux came a big man with a big heart and swept us off our feet with his charm. On his birthday today, I’d personally like to wish Marouane Chamakh a very very Happy Birthday.

A non-home grown player, Chamakh made his debut for Arsenal on 15′th August 2010 in the Premier League game against Liverpool which was a draw. His first goal for Arsenal came against Blackpool on 21′st August 2010. He’s the only player till date to have scored goals in six consecutive Champion League games.

His performance this past season has been outstanding, minus the few ups and downs. He’s been there when we’ve needed him the most and some of his goals are extremely commendable. He comes with much experience and has grown in to a full-fledged player in no time. He along with Samir Nasri and/or Robin van Persie forms an almost invincible Arsenal attack.

A lot more can be expected from this Moroccan International in the present season as well as in the coming one. I’m sure he’s got a lot of surprises up his sleeve for us. But for now, enjoy your day Chamakh! Happy Birthday!

PS: His birthday falls on 10′th Jan 1984, and not 11′th (as the date of publish of this post).
