Farewell Carlos! Welcome to Manchester, Sergio Aguero?
Posted on July 18th, 2011 | by LetsAllDoThePoznan in Aguero,Man City,Tevez,UncategorizedThe breaking news this morning is that City have accepted the bid from Corinthians for Carlos Tevez with the move almost certain to be concluded before the Brazilian transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Although Carlos was probably our best player last season the news will come as a relief to most City fans. Yes he will be difficult to replace but the constant speculation about his future was beginning to derail the momentum building at the club with all the successes of last year.
It is time that both City and Carlos Tevez move on and look to a future away from each other. Carlos will be happier closer to his family and City can enjoy a stronger, happier squad that can grow together into a great team.
The one problem is, who will replace him? There is no doubt Carlos was integral to our success last year and there is a large void to be filled up front when he goes.
The answer, Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero. There are strong rumours that the 23 year old Argentinian is pretty much a done deal from Atletico Madrid. Manchester Evening News reporter Stuart Brennan has posted on Twitter that the Argentinian media is reporting a deal is close and could be completed in next couple of days. Mancini has already confirmed his interest in the player and if the rumours are true I for one will be very happy indeed.
What do you think? Can Aguero replace Tevez or do we need to look elsewhere?
