Fabregas Could Make Champions League Return

Cesc Fabregas is believed to be fit enough to return to action when Arsenal take on Shakhtar Donetsk this week in the Champions League.

The 23-year-old had been sidelined with a hamstring injury during a freak incident in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, which saw the Spain international unwittingly score a goal through a rebound from his leg.

The Gunners’ captain had declared himself fit during the international break, but played no part in the recent victory over Birmingham City. But now The Mirror reports that the midfielder will make a comeback during Tuesday’s game against Shakhtar.

The encounter with the Ukrainian outfit at the Emirates Stadium will also see the return of Eduardo, who left Arsenal during the summer.
