Did Dalglish Drop Bellamy Or Was It A Deal Between Clubs?

The Welshman, who was said to be very close with his national team manager, was one of the many summer signings for Liverpool and there could have been a deal in place that he would not play this game against Manchester City.
A few years ago there was a gentlemen’s agreement between Manchester United and Everton that Tim Howard would not play against them, and the Reds won the game 4-2 and eventually won the league title because of that result.
Dalglish claimed, “Bellamy was a bit upset so there’s no way that a game of football is more important than grieving, so that was the decision I made.”
Ahead of last month’s Manchester Derby, Patrice Evra received the news that his 42-year old brother died of heart attack, but Sir Alex Ferguson left it up to the player, as to whether he was going to play or not. The French full-back decided to play on and how he did is a great testament to him and his devotion to the club – even though he didn’t play all that well.
Every person handles death differently, and maybe this was the best situation for Bellamy, but Dalglish should have left it up to him. The winger has always been a feisty loose cannon, as he showed a few years ago in the Manchester Derby, and this sort of situation could’ve sent him over the edge – even more than he already is.
