Chelsea Tell Lille To Name Their Price For Eden Hazard
Posted on January 13th, 2012 | by David in Chelsea NewsChelsea have reportedly told Lille to name their price for Eden Hazard, after denying that they had had a £25million bid on Thursday rejected by the French side. An offer of 40million euros (£33million) would trigger the winger’s release clause.
Lille official Jean-Michel Vandamme said:
“Yes, we have received a lot of very interesting proposals. But the clubs want the player immediately and on this we have a very clear idea: Hazard will remain at least until the end of the season. He will not go.”
Lille is willing to sell Hazard now, if the buying club will immediately loan the talented winger back to them for the rest of the season. Chelsea are said to be against this, but of they wait until the summer to buy Hazard they might end up in a bidding war with Man City, PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid, that would seriously drive the transfer fee up.
Chelsea’s best option is to sign Hazard now and leave him in France until the summer. That way at least they have him for next season.
