Chelsea Said To Be Interested In Genk Winger

Kevin De Bruyne says Chelsea still are interested in signing him, despite the Blues refusing to meet Genk’s asking price during the summer.

De Bruyne thought he was on his way to Stamford Bridge during the summer, but Chelsea thought that Genk’s valuation of £8m was too high.

However the 20-year-old winger is hoping that the deal can be revived:

“Chelsea are still interested in me and already have a plan in place for me” said De Bruyne. “Staying at Genk for another season is not an option for me. Chelsea were serious about signing me but maybe Genk’s asking price was too high.”

A quality wide man is a glaring hole that Chelsea has. Not sure whether De Bruyne is the answer, but it does show that Chelsea are looking to add some wide players to the team.
