Chelsea Make £35million Bid For Real Madrid’s Angel di Maria

According to reports in Spain, Chelsea have made a £35million bid for Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria.

Sports paper Marca, which has strong links with the Bernaabeu club, says the Argentinean is eyeing a move to England because he feels let down after a proposed pay rise did not arrive.

Marca claims an unnamed English club, thought to be Chelsea, has already met di Maria’s representatives and the player is mulling over their offer, which would include a substantial pay rise.

Di Maria is Real Madrid’s top assist maker this season, and with him and Mata in the side, Chelsea will be a lot more creative than they have been. The problem with Di Maria is that he gets injured a lot, and I am not sure how he will do in the more physical Premier League. To that degree he reminds me of Arjen Robben.

If Chelsea in the summer can land long-term targets like Porto’s Hulk and Napoli’s Edinson Cavani, then AVB will have totallly transformed the side.

What do you think of di Maria? Good target for Chelsea?
