Chelsea Get QPR/MK Dons Away in FA Cup
Posted on January 9th, 2012 | by David in Chelsea NewsChelsea will be away to MK Dons or Queen’s Park Rangers in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The tie will be played 28/29 January.
Chelsea have not played League One MK Dons since they adopted the name when Wimbledon relocated to Milton Keynes. They were formally managed by current Chelsea assistant first team coach Roberto Di Matteo.
Chelsea last met QPR (who sacked manager Neil Warnock on Sunday evening) in the FA Cup four years ago, beating them 1-0 at home in the third round. Chelsea won in the fourth round at Loftus Road in 1996 with Gavin Peacock and Paul Furlong scoring for us against a club for whom both also played.
If QPR win the replay, then the cup tie will be Chelsea’s first visit to Loftus Road since the stormy league match in October when Chelsea had two players sent off and John Terry was subsequently charged with racial abusing Anton Ferdinand.
