Chelsea’s Sunday: Negatives and Positives
Posted on May 16th, 2011 | by Super Chelsea in Arsenal,Cech,first-team,Grant,Ivanovic,Newcastle,West Ham,ZolaIf the rumor that Ancelotti is being sacked at the end of the season is true, our Newcastle game is not the one I shall remember him by. I was disappointed our Blues conceded two goals from set pieces. The first goal conceded was the result of Cech not organizing his wall well. The second goal from the Magpies was the result of poor concentration from our defense. We had to hold on to a lead for 10-11 minutes and we failed. All I can say is that the Magpies game summarized our season.
There were few positives from Sunday. First Le Arse didn’t fail to choke again, their loss to Villa means we have secured second spot in the league. I’m not happy with second place; I would have preferred we were first. It’s not good to accept second place as a good finish simply because we were once sh*t. Our current squad possesses enough ability and experience to win at least one trophy per season. Let us not accept mediocrity lest we take the path of Le Arse. It’s only a positive because we top every team in London.
Second positive from Sunday was West Ham getting relegated. To think West Ham sacked Zola for “poor performance” and replaced him with Grant makes me laugh. The Hammers more deserve what Grant brought them. Enjoy the picture of West Ham fans mourning their fate.
The final positive from Sunday was Ivanovic’s son, Stefan. Our young Serbian striker has scored more goals for Chelsea than Torres and Mikel put together. Watch his first goal and the celebration, its class.
