Cesc back for Brum, Theo back for City and Diaby could never have been……

If we are to believe all that’s written, back in January 2005 Abou Diaby was wanted by the Rich Kids in London. Yep, Chelsea were keen to sign our player but Diarra put him off. Abou had traveled to London whilst playing for Auxerre and had a tour of Stamford Bridge

I wonder if he had to pay John Terry for that tour ;)

Whilst having a look around he bumped into Diarra, Diarra told him he hadn’t played for Chelsea in three months, even though he was fit and ready to do so. Jose, the manager at the time also confirmed this situation and put it down to having a large squad and couldn’t guarantee him anything more than a bit part at the time. He said he had ‘big players’ in front of him.

Sensibly, Diaby turned down any offer from Chelsea, regardless of however much money he could have earned he wanted to play football. That same month he joined Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Adebayor and signed for Arsenal – Abou says that Wenger really wanted him to sign, something that didn’t come across at Chelsea.

Talking about Lassana Diarra and again if you believe all that is written, he is going to force a move out of Real Madrid in January, hoping to sign for either the Tiny Totts or us. He’s only played in four games this season and two of those were from the bench. Believed to be valued at £20 million, I doubt if he will end up at either club, certainly not us, When was the last time Wenger paid that kind of money for a player? He certainly wouldn’t pay it for one he once let go for far less!

A bit of funny news, not that it will be ‘news’ for any of us Arsenal fans, one of the bosses at Werder Breman are surprised and disappointed at how slow their new summer signing is. Their sporting director Klaus Allofs has slammed centre-half Mikael Silvestre, suggesting the former Arsenal defender is error prone and too slow.

Tell us something we didn’t know Klaus!! :)

To end on a happy note, Cesc Fabregas should be returning for the home game against Birmingham and Theo Walcott should follow him the following weekend for the trip to play the Northern Rich Kids in Manchester. Almunia and Nikki B are also very close to a return. Now all we need is Thomas Vermaelen and Robin van Persie back and things should get back on track and winning ways return.

That’s it folks, have a great day….
