Celtic have opened talks with Santos Laguna about arranging a friendly match.
A deputation from the Mexican club are currently touring Europe and held talks with Celtic at the weekend while attending the 2-1 win over Dundee United.
According to the Santos website several areas of interest between the two clubs were discussed including a friendly match next summer.
Celtic won’t be able to draw up their pre-season schedule until they know their European commitments but after visiting Australia last summer they are likely to head to North America this year with a game against the Mexican’s a priority.
After talks with Celtic at the weekend the Santos delegation attended Monday’s Wigan v Manchester City match before holding talks with Everton. Tonight the Santos delegation are in Spain to attend the Real Madrid v Barcelona Copa del Rey clash in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
