Bayern book place in last 16 Bayern Munich secured themselves a berth in the knockout stages of the Champions League and also first place in Group A with a 3-1 win over Villarreal, who bid to farewell to Europe as they are guaranteed to now finish in bottom spot.

Over the last month or so the toon star Jose Enrique has been linked with an end of season move to Liverpool. However today there are fresh reports all over the web suggesting AC Milan are also tracking down the star. This is news we do not want to hear with Jose’s contract due to end at the end of next season. It’s currently understood that the Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish already has £6million ready to hand over to the Spanish defender.

According to The People the 25 year olds agent is already in talks with AC Milan officials and has held positive talks about a possible move. Newcastle United signed the star from Villarreal back in 2007 for around £6.3million when he signed a five year deal. For the toon he has so far made 110 appearances in the black and white shirt netting the one goal last season in the Championship. Back in December 2010 this is what Jose told the press before the interest from around Europe began: “I love the city, I love the club and I don’t care about signing for another team.”

The toon star has today commented on the interest from other Premier League teams, just days after he had been linked with move’s to both Manchester United and Liverpool. He told the media his future could lie away from Newcastle United as he is after Champions League football. However the toon boss Alan Pardew is still keen to sign the left-back after his outstanding season. Jose still has around 18 months left on Tyneside before he has to sign a new contract, this being a contract he has to re-new with Newcastle United!

Anyway this is what Jose told the media today about his future: “It’s flattering that Liverpool are interested. I’ve also heard that Manchester United and Aston Villa have asked about me. They are both big teams, and I’m not closing the door on anyone, I’m ambitious and want to play in the Champions League. I want to win things. I’m OK at Newcastle, but I aspire to more.” Newcastle signed Jose from Villarreal in 2007 for £6.3million, the player who stuck by the toon after relegation to the Championship two seasons ago. The 25 year old has so far made 109 appearances in the famous black and white and has netted one fantastic goal. Let’s just hope we can keep a hold of the star.
