Benzema deal off.
Posted on May 27th, 2011 | by arsenalfanblog in Arsenal News,Karim Benzema,Mourinho,Real Madrid,transfer rumoursAh, that’s slightly unfortunate isnt it. Karim Benzema has announced that he is happy at Real Madrid and want’s to stay there ‘for many years’.
Recently the rumour mill has been a buzz with speculation that Arsene has shown interest in Benzema about bringing him to the Emirates, but as of today, it seems that’s dead in the water.
Speaking to Marca, Benzema said;
People talk a lot: that he [Mourinho] hasn’t got confidence in me, that he wants to sell me,
But if you look at the number of matches he had me play, I don’t think that he doesn’t count on me. If he didn’t want me he wouldn’t have me play as much, would he?
He asks a lot of me but he has helped me to improve. He’s someone who loves winning and so do I. He made me a winner as a footballer and as a person.
I feel very good at Madrid, in the team, I adore the fans, the people, the stadium… I’m going to stay for many years.
Fair play to him for coming out and announcing that he wants to stay, these day’s every player tends to leave an ‘out’ option, the typical, ‘I’m happy here but football changes…’ bollocks they all say.
In September Mourinho said that Benzema had a lack of ambition which fueled many rumours that Benzema will look to leave this summer, but since then he has performed well for Madrid, finishing the season with 48 appearances and 28 goals, not a bad return.
Earlier this week everyone got excited because Benzema’s agent was reported to be in London, which it turns out looks to be for personal reasons as he said.
