Bacary Survives A Bowyer-Attack As Arsenal Cruise Through

We love you Bacary!

The commentators said that the difference between the two sides was the fact that Arsenal made it count when it mattered, as opposed to Birmingham. We have been on the receiving end of the same for a long time and it was nice to see a change. Is this for real or is it just blip in our rather abysmal consistently inconsistent graph? Will things get back to consistent inconsistency that we are used to or will they improve for the better? The latest example of the same is the points dropped against Wigan after a massive victory against Chelsea. But that is life as a Gooner. Read on..

We won 3 nil against the same opponents which decapitated Dudu for life as a footballer. Arsenal was pretty yesterday but I can’t say the same about Birmingham. There was malice all around. What was Lee Bowyer doing? That ain’t football. He looked like someone wanting to instigate a stampede at St. Andrews. If Birmingham plans to stay afloat, they need to change their attitude in the first place. Football will come later. We should thank God that both Fabregas and Sagna have come safe out of St. Andrews. It’s a shame that people like him dis-grace the football pitch.

Now I have some musing that I want to share with you all and it has been in my head for a long time. Correct me if I am wrong -

  • I feel that RvP should play as a winger and not as a central forward. He is a very good dribbler and can dance past any defender. Add to that the fact that he’s the best crosser of the ball we’ve got in our squad. And it is general knowledge that we have a dearth of good crossers. Chamakh and Bendtner are the natural central forwards in the side and they should play at that position. The effectiveness of RvP will increase as a winger.
  • About Arshavin, I feel that he is best suited to play in the hole for Arsenal rather than playing in the wings. Yes, he has the trickery to go past defenders but he does not track back to cover Clichy as much as he should and he is one of the reason why Clichy looks ordinary at times.

So, I would like my line up to have one of Bendtner/Chamakh as the centre forward and two of RvP/Walcott/Nasri as wingers. Arshavin would be wonderful in the hole behind the centre forward. He can play alongside Cesc, with Song doing the dirty work. Do let me know about your thoughts on the same.

Cheers!
