Arsenal to Lure Gorka Iraizoz by Tripling his Salary

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz could be lured away from San Mames by the prospect of his salary being tripled by Premier League side Arsenal.

The Gunners have long been seeking a reliable custodian and the 29-year-old Bilbao based shot stopper is believed to be a prime target with the prospect of a free transfer placing him top of the North London clubs list over more expensive options.

Iraizoz is currently in the early stages of negotiations on a renewal with los Leones but has reportedly dismissed the club’s initial offer of somewhere in the region of €650,000 per year, with Arsenal understood to be willing to offer something closer to €1.8 million a year according to AS.

Should Athletic fail to significantly improve their offer, the lure of a greater financial incentives and the prospect of regular UEFA Champions League football would surely prove too good to refuse
