Arsenal Have £16.9 Million Bid Rejected for Croation Duo

Arsenal have had a £16.9 million bid for Croatian pair Sime Vrsaljko and Mateo Kovacic rejected, according to Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdvravko Mamic.

The players’ club have revealed that the Premier League giants made the bid after a delegation visited them last week.

Defender Vrsaljko, 18, has been tracked by a number of Europe’s top clubs, while Kovacic, 16, has been likened to Lionel Messi.

Mamic told Sportski Zurnal: “Ten days ago we had an special visit in Zagreb.

“Here were people from Arsenal and they were ready to pay 20 million Euros (£16.9m) for Vrsaljko and Kovacic.

“But they are to stay in Dinamo, Arsenal just wanted to buy them for the future. But my answer was sharp, I said ‘no’ in one second.”
