Are Liverpool FC inherently racist?

The murky racism row to engulf the Premier League just got foggier with the uncovering of startling new evidence that points to not just Luis Suarez being racist, but the whole of the red half of Merseyside exhibiting a proclivity towards bigotry. Our BFZ Times’ correspondent, under great risk to life and limb organized and executed the perfect undercover operation to unearth this mystery leading to great teeth gnashing at News International’s headquarters in Wapping, London. James Murdoch was overheard questioning his top officials why in god’s name they were occupied with hacking the telephones of Andy Gray and Hugh Grant when such a scandal was bypassed unmolested.

Liverpool’s recent over-the-top written response to the F.A’s findings in the Suarez case was what piqued the curiosity of our correspondent. A keen Freudian, he hypothesized that people with the most vehement rebuttals are usually the guiltiest. History is replete with such incidents; Sarah Palin’s blood libel tirade being a prime illustration. Realizing that mere theorizing would hardly satisfy the ordinary football fan who is nearly always extremely objective, choosing to rely on cold hard facts as opposed to any spouted crap, he dug deep and has ended up, a neo-Pandora.

Liverpool’s atrocious forays into the transfer market have always been written down to poor judgment. However, sample this; in the past couple of years Liverpool has moved on Damien Plessis, Nabil El Zhar, David N’Gog and Ryan Babel; all black players. When you realize that they compounded this by actually paying money for the likes of Andy Carroll (shite but white), you cannot help but wonder if something sinister is afoot. Currently Liverpool’s only non-white starter is Glen Johnson. Martin Kelly’s injury and more importantly the fact that he is of mixed race are the only factors that have ensured that he is still on the payroll. That the Kop faithful should anoint the man who has perpetrated this persecution King just shows how deep seated this abomination is.

The club’s playing kits are always steeped in tradition and say a lot about the club itself. From Barcelona’s blaugrana to the Boston Celtic’s green, the shirts have always made a statement. And in one swoop, Liverpool has managed to reveal their true colors (pun unintended). Their away kit is black; almost tantamount to the proclamation that they would never let that color darken the doors of Anfield (again, unintentional pun). And if you thought that was bad, it gets worse. They actually agreed to sport the color blue on their kits (the color of their hated rivals, Everton) just because the rest of the shirt was, you guessed it, white.

Speaking of Everton, have you ever paused to think why the rivalry is so heated? The Liverpool FC propaganda machine has always been in overdrive gently nudging you towards the obvious explanation of an intra-city conflict. You could not be more misinformed. The Kop’s exception is based more on color. Everton FC’s popular monikers include ‘The Toffees’ and ‘The Blues’. One describes a caramel color and the other a genre of music only black men have ever mastered. Could it be less clear?

Like every self-respecting supremacist the club decided to come up with an insincere face saving PR exercise; a documentary ‘From Gayle to Babel: The Black Contribution to LFC’. They even had legend John Barnes come up with an obviously scripted line. Digger Barnes said ‘The documentary shows pride in our diversity and celebrates the work of these players’. The only thing revelatory about the previous line was the fact that John Barnes’ nickname at Liverpool was Digger. When you consider they’ve conferred highly adulatory nicknames on other idols; case in point, El Nino; you realize Digger is an insult, hardly veiled. Even Alan Hansen got into the act on MoTD calling black players colored, hiding behind the excuse of being thick.

Hard evidence can hardly be ignored and the above points should leave you in no doubt that the title of the post is indeed true. For those tottering on the edge, shell shocked at the exposé and yet in the need of one final confirmation, ask yourself this. The ‘Support Suarez’ shirts- Why were they not a neutral grey or a Scouser Red? Why were they White?
