£12m Diarra, Return for Ljungberg, Henry, Pires & Tony Adams

Morning to all, again we’ve woken to more transfer talk, this time Arsene looks to continue his recent hand of signing our old players back.

An unsettled Lassana Diarra is apparently being offered to Arsenal for £12m. Not happy about sitting on the bench, wants to leave for first team football, hmm, where have we heard this before? Oh yes I remember.

When we signed Diarra 3 years ago, he immediately moaned because he felt he should be first choice, helping him get into the France squad for Euro 2008, then just 5 months later we sold him to Portsmouth for a fee believed to be £5.5m, only for this not to get in the France squad anyway.

Whilst Diarra, as a talent midfielder would be what we need at Arsenal, his mental side is all wrong. We need someone who is willing to fight for a place (Song), not someone who will want out at the first sign of the bench. Will this transfer happen, who knows, but if it does, it paves the way for the return of;

Fredrik Ljungberg - Arsene’s will look to bring the current Celtic player back to the Premier League, hoping to gain merchandise sales from his new underwear range, branded with the Arsenal logo, of course.

Thierry Henry - Bringing home Arsenal’s most talismanic striker. After a season with the New York Red Bulls, Henry training with us over the American season break was really a trial period. Arsene will bring him back to partner Van Persie for a succesful partnership for years to come.

Robert Pirès - The hobbling frenchman will return for a final bow for a season with Arsenal. Currently at Premier League side Aston Villa, Bobby Pires has said he’d love to return to London for the Women and Hair Salons, good choice.

Tony Adams - Surely the most surprising of all. Arsene has been talking to the current manager of Gabala FC, and had him back for a fitness test, all towards the return of Adams to instil a rock solid centre back partnership with the fit Vermaelen. Talks have also been with Martin Keown, to bring the 2 most talented Arsenal centre backs back to the top flight.

Seriously? Arsene brings back Sol Campbell, and Jens Lehmann for the last part of a season, now papers are going to claim we’ll re-sign every ex-Arsenal player who still plays the game.

Whilst a new midfielder like Diarra wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. Do we really need him? Song is a brilliant defensive midfielder, but he does need competition. Right now he will play if he is fit. We need someone who will challenge him, but a player who WANTS to challenge him. Diarra won’t.

In other news, apparently Cesc is off to Manchester City, yaaaaay….
